Taranaki District Health Board is seeking a Clinical Cardiac Physiologist to assist with the expanding services offered by the Cardiology services at Taranaki Base Hospital.
The eligible candidate for the position should:
The applicant will also be trained in Pulmonary Function Tests and be prepared to complete any further training as the need arises.
The candidate will report to the Charge Technologist in charge of the department and work along side the other Clinical Cardiac Physiologist,
as well as other members of the cardiology team.
Taranaki Base Hospital is the main medical centre in the Taranaki Region, which has a population of approximately 105,000.
Taranaki Base Hospital has 210 beds catering for all major specialties. New Plymouth is an attractive coastal city close to major surfing beaches and Mount Taranaki/Egmont.

Diagnostic Testing is a small but dedicated Department based at Southland Hospital. We provide a full range of diagnostic procedures for sleep,
respiratory and cardiac medicine.
You’ll be responsible for providing accurate cardiac investigations, including analysis and comprehensive reports,
using standard measurement tools and equipment in the department. We support professional development within the department and
look for people willing to educate colleagues and junior staff in the cardiac service.
To be considered for this position you’ll need to be a qualified Cardiac Physiologist who is registered, or meets registration guidelines with the CPRB (http://www.cprb.org.nz/).
You’ll also need to hold an annual practising certificate, or be eligible for one.
We’re looking for someone who is methodical, a good communicator
and able to work both autonomously and as part of a team. If you have echocardiography experience this would be an added advantage.

who work closely with their cath lab, pacing and physician colleagues to provide a varied and interesting role.

The Cardiology Service is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, motivated Cardiac Physiologist who has the ability to plan, organise and work in a demanding environment.
The Clinical Cardiac Physiologist role consists of a service to outpatients and inpatients by assisting in the provision of specialist
cardiac investigations including cardiac angiography and pacemaker implantation. Experience with ICD devices is desirable and the IBHRE qualification would be advantageous.
You will also participate in the provision of cardiac diagnostics and investigations as part of the Community Cardiology initiative,
working alongside the cardiologist in community clinics within the DHB.
You will have the relevant technical qualifications, hold the ASCT qualification or equivalent, and a current annual practising
certificate. Ideally you will also have 2 years post qualification experience.
You would also need to have proven clinical computer, keyboard, and communication skills.
It is essential that you are able to work as part of a team as well as independently using your own initiative.
This is a fulltime position, working 40 hours a week.
